We plan the kitchen around how you actually cook, clean, and store food. The finished room is easier to use, not just newer to look at.

A kitchen works best when the fridge, sink, and stove are close enough to reach easily.
Leave them far enough apart that two people can cook at the same time. A good layout saves you steps every day.
What goes into a kitchen renovation
Layout
We plan where the fridge, sink, stove, and prep space sit so you are not walking back and forth. Sometimes that means moving a wall. Often it does not.
Cabinets and storage
Drawers instead of low cupboards you have to kneel at. Pull-outs for pots. A spot for recycling that is not on the floor.
Counters
Quartz, granite, or laminate depending on your budget and how hard you use the kitchen. We explain what each one costs to live with, not just to buy.
Lighting
We put light over the counters where you actually chop. One light in the middle of the ceiling just casts your shadow on the cutting board.
Plumbing and wiring
New circuits for the appliances, proper outlets, and any plumbing that has to move. Our own electricians and plumbers do this.
Range hood
A hood that sends the air outside. Many older Toronto kitchens blow the air back into the room, and the grease ends up on the cabinets.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Design: Usually 1 to 3 weeks
Construction: Usually 1 to 2 weeks
Counter installation: Usually 1 week
Why the counters come last: Stone has to be measured after the cabinets are in and levelled, because a template taken any earlier will not fit. The slab is then cut and finished, which usually takes 7 to 14 business days. This is normal, and we tell you the date up front so you can plan around it.
What adds time: moving plumbing, adding electrical outlets, changing where the hood vents outside, special-order appliances or finishes, and structural changes.

Did you know?
In Ontario, only a licensed electrical contractor can legally do electrical work for you.
You can check any contractor’s licence with the ESA. Unlicensed work can cause problems with your insurance and when you sell. Ask to see the licence before you hire.
